    My Family

Friday, August 29, 2008, 11:36 AM PST [General]

Family is, heaven sent from our father above, bonded by the power of love.
No matter what family has each others back,
    when push comes to shove.
Family is, understanding, never demanding, all for one and one for all, I will never leave you alone standing.
Family is, one in itself, my love is your love, your pain is my pain, my wealth is your
wealth, I promise to never leave you by yourself.
Family is, the strongest team, the strongest unit; if love could be visualized, family
    would be the blue print.
Family is, forgiveness and patience, it's sweeter than the sweetest fragrance, the
power of family is a reflection of Gods compassion and magnificence.
Family is, never turning our back, and never shames, lend my helping hand and not a finger pointing the blame.
No matter what a family bond can never be broken, even through a nuclear explosion,
if one of us lives we all live. Forever to eternity, we are family, my father, my mother,
my sisters , my brothers, my nephews and me..

    Michael Jackson B day

Friday, August 29, 2008, 01:36 PM CST [General]

    Happy 50th BIRTHDAY  "MICHAEL JACKSON"

The Bio History of Michael Joseph Jackson began when he was born on the 29th of August 1958 in Gary, Indiana. He was the 7th of nine children. (brothers: Sigmund "Jackie", Toriano "Tito", Jermaine, Marlon, Steven "Randy", and sisters Rebbie, Janet and La-Toya Jackson

Michael began his musical career at the age of 5 as the lead singer of the Jackson 5 who formed in 1964. In these early years the Jackson 5, Jackie, Jermaine,Tito,Marlon and lead singer Michael played local clubs and bars in Gary Indiana and moving further afield as there talents grew and they could compete in bigger competitions. From these early days Michael would be at the same clubs as big talented stars of there days, such as Jackie Wilson and would be learning from them even back then. In 1968 the Bobby Taylor and The Vancouvers discovered the Jackson five and from there they got an audition for Berry Gordy of Motown Records. The Jackson 5 signed for Motown and moved to California. Their first 4 singles, "I Want You Back", "ABC", "The Love You Save", and "I'll Be There" all made US No1 hits. The Jackson 5 recorded 14 albums and Michael recorded 4 solo albums with Motown.

The Jackson 5 stayed with Motown until 1976, wanting more artistic freedom they felt they had to move on and signed up with Epic. The group name Jackson 5 had to be changed as it was owned by Motown, so they reverted to The Jacksons as they had be known in the early days. Brother Jermaine married Berry Gordy's daughter and stayed with Motown. Youngest brother Randy joined in his place. The Jacksons had a number of hit recordsand in total made 6 albums between the years of 1976 and 1984.

In 1977 Michael made his first film debut when he starred in the musical 'The Wiz' playing Scarecrow with Diana Ross in the lead role of Dorothy. It was at this time Michael met Quincy Jones who was doing the score for the film.

Michael teamed up with Quincey Jones as his producer for his first solo album with Epic Records. The album titled "Off The Wall" was a big success around the world and the first ever album to release a record breaking 4 No1 singles in the US.

In 1982 Michael Jackson released the world's largest selling album of all time, 'Thriller'. This album produced 7 hit singles, breaking yet again more records, and went on to sell over 50 million copies worldwide. Michael was keen to use music video or short films as he called them to promote his singles from the album. He worked with the best directors and producers, using the latest technology and special effects.for the hit song 'Billie Jean' The short film 'Thriller' used the latest make-up artists technolgy combined with fantastic dancing and cherography, to produce a 14 minute video, with a start, a middle and an ending. So successful was this video that 'The Making Of Michael Jackson's Thriller' became the world's largest selling home video combined with soaring album sales. In 1983 Michael performed the now legendary moonwalk for the first time on the 'Motown 25 years' anniversary show. This performance alone set Michael undoubtable into the realm of a superstar.

In 1984 Michael won a record breaking 8 Grammy awards in one night. The awards were for his work on the 'Thriller' album and his work on the narrative for the 'ET Storybook'.

On December 9th 1984 at the last concert of the Jackson's Victory Tour, Michael announced he was splitting from the group and going solo.

In 1987 Michael released his much awaited third solo album, titled 'Bad', and lauched his record breaking first solo world tour. 1988, Michael wrote his first autobiography talking for the first time on his childhood and his career. At the end of the 1980s Michael was named 'Artist Of The Decade' for his success off of his 'Thriller' and 'Bad' albums.

In 1991 Michael signed with Sony Music the largest ever recording contract and released his fourth solo album, 'Dangerous'. He toured world again in 1992, taking his concerts to countries that had never before been visited by a pop/rock artist. Also Michael founded the 'Heal the World Foundation' to help improve the lives of children across the world.

In 1994 Michael married Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of rock legend Elvis Presley. The marriage only lasted for 19 months, as they divorced in 1996.

1995 saw Michael release a fifth solo album, 'HIStory', which was a double album, first half new material and second half half greatest hits. Michael toured again over a legs covering a 2 year period. In between legs of the tour on November 14th 1996, Michael married for his second time to Debbie Rowe who was a nurse that Michael had met in the treatment of his skin pigment disorder. Together they had their first child Prince Michael Joseph Jackson jr born on February 13 1997 and a daughter Paris Michael Katherine Jackson born on April 3rd 1998. In 1997 Michael released the remix album 'Blood On The Dance Floor' which also contained 5 new song linked with a 38min film "Ghosts". This film Michael played 5 roles using the latest special effects and make-up artistry, combined with his dance and music.

In September, 2001 Michael celebrated his 30th anniversary as a solo artist with two concerts to be held in New York, USA. Many artists such as Whitney Houston, Usher, Destinys Child, Shaggy and many more performed there own and Michael Jacksons past songs. Michael then reunited with all of his brothers performed there biggest hits. Michael then went onto perform solo some of his biggest hits. In October 2001 Michael released the album 'Invincible' so far releasing only 2 singles including the big hit "You Rock My World". Since the release of this first single the album has been surrounded by rumours of a rift with Sony Music and a clear lack of promotion of the album.

Success at Olympics - Education impact... continued

Friday, August 29, 2008, 07:34 PM GMT [Education]

Further to my previous post, the importance of parents in success or edcuation cannot be undervalued.  Young swimmers have a parent drop them off at 6 am to go swimming and mould their lives to fit in with their talented youngster.  In this way, they provide encouragement and even possibly some training or at least discipline and focus.

In rugby, both Messrs Farrell and Ford have sons who are likely to become major talents in one code or the other.  The former being a rugby league legend may end up finding his son playing union and the latter's son also has a tough choice to make between either code (his dad was not bad at league either and is the England Union Defence Coach).  The fact that both sons have access at a very young age to experts at the game of rugby helps their development at something which could be very expensive  to provide otherwise.  Note in this case both parents are clearly enthusiastic and proud.

However, the best examples are Tiger Woods and the Williams Sisters...although there are mitigating circumstances in the US and these cases

In general the number of successes, who swim, ride, shoot at such a young age is very high.

The same happens with those who have access to bright parents when young.  Maths prodigies will often but not always come from bright or academic parents.  These parents are not pushy but enthusiastic on their subject and effectively immunise their kids form bad education in their favourite subjects.

The implication for education is that parents may have to take control of much of it as practical.  It is not enough to find a good school if the parents are academically smart enough to enthuse about a subject and their child keen and WILLING to learn.  This may matter more than finding a good school for education.

The implication for education is that parents will need to start their offspring young and pre-school.

What could be more thrilling than a marketing survey?  How about MONSTER HUNTER marketing survey?

Clearly we're already in danger of overexciting everybody, so just to calm things down, let me say that this survey is targeting specific segments of France and the UK.  So yeah, this survey isn't for everyone, but since the Unity crowd is pretty international, I thought I'd share and give you a chance to tell us your thoughts.

    My love

Friday, August 29, 2008, 11:30 AM PST [General]

So me and my girlfriend just moved to L.A. fro Riverside where I was born in my bedroom and rasied ALL MY LIFE. Mo was born in the O.C. but was raised in riverside as while. We didn't meet each other in 2004. I just came out to my mom on my 21 birthday and wasn't really thinking about getting into a relationship. We knew each other from friends in Musical Theater and hung out ever once in a while. Just a few days after my birthday I was hanging out with some friends and Maria at a park in San D. Thats when we first kissed. I coulndnt get her out of my mind. Everytime I thought about our kiss I would get this feeling thats undescrible. I didn't know if it would be really weird hanging out with her again but it wasn't the next time I saw she told that she really liked me. I still was sure if I wanted to get into a relationship so early in my coming out. But I knew that with all the boy's and one girl I kissed that I have never felt the way I did when she kissed me. After a few more times seeing each other we were pretty much inseperable. I love this woman and can't wait to marry her in Oct of this year.♥

Girl Talk with Sis... "Hard Work Pays Off"

Friday, August 29, 2008, 11:27 AM PST [Girl Talk With SIS]

Today's Topic: Hard Work Pays Off

Today I received a very good email.  It was from my old Program Director in San Diego informing everyone that one of my friends in SD just got hired as a co-host for the morning show down there.  I am sooooo happy for him!  He started out in radio just like me, interning, working odd hours and basically working for free (school credit).  There are times when you are interning or working 5 different jobs that you stop and ask yourself, "Why am I doing this?  Why am I working so hard and not seeing any results?"

Well, you just have to be patient.  It sounds so cliché but it does pay off in the end! If you are one of seven interns and you all have the same responsibility, be the one that works the hardest stays the latest and NEVER COMPLAINS! I remember working late nights or overnights and missing fun parties in college.  Yeah, I was bummed that I missed Brandon's 4th of July 2006 Party on the beach, but at the time I would just focus on work and realize that all my hard work will pay off one day.  And it did!  And honestly who is talking about Brandon's party now?  NOBODY!

Getting a great job or something that you really want is about prioritizing.  Figure out what you want then figure out what you have to do to get it!  Surround yourself with people you love and never doubt that you can achieve your dreams. With hard work and dedication anything is possible!  Have a great Labor Day weekend:)

    Xoxo,

    Sisanie

    BPA chancers simply not credible

Friday, August 29, 2008, 07:25 PM GMT [General]

Whatever your views on Sir Ian Blair, the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service, - and I'm not one of his greatest fans - it is hard not to feel sorry for the bloke after the news that Tarique Ghaffur is suing him for racial discrimination.

Sir Ian has made a career from bending over backwards to appease all kinds of liberal political pressure groups, incurring the wrath of the general public and his own officers, who both want some real non-PC policing to tackle the growing crime problem.

My take on this is that Tarique Ghaffur, with full support from the shameless Black Police Association (BPA), have taken the opportunity of lodging this claim a shortwhile prior to the publication of the inquest into the Stockwell shooting in an attempt to exert maximum pressure on the Commissioner in the hope of attaining some sort of positive outcome, as they realise that their case is fatally flawed.

What the BPA fail to realise is that this type of transparent political manoevre undermines its credibility, its whole ethos and limits its future effectiveness, thus inadvertantly hurting those who are its intended beneficiaries.  Individuals from the groups that it represents will feel patronised and  their professional reputations in posts which they would have attained on merit are diminished, because they are thought to occupy them by special privilege.  They are, in fact, more likely to become targets of resentment.

A final note - today Ken Livingstone has said there's nothing in this claim, Tarique Ghaffur is simply not up to the job.  That tells you all you need to know about this ridiculous claim - the most liberal policeman ever, supported by a firebrand left wing politician.

Tarique Ghaffur, you are the weakest link, goodbye!!!

    MYSTICAL AUTUMN

    Friday, August 29, 2008, 01:23 PM [General]

Why do I take the spiritual route in this physical world? Because without the spiritual component in all that is done under Grandfather Sun, nothing makes sense, there is no purpose for the things that happen to us. Without the spiritual component , then why go through them, why have all the trauma, and heartache that passes our way if there is not more to it than what we experience? Why go through the love losses? Why go through the pain of sickness and disease? Why go through working day in and day out ? For what purpose do we go through these hardships if there is nothing in it? If we live this life for no other reason than just to experience it, we are missing the point. If we go through life just to have the pleasure and get all we can out of it, then die, what purpose is that? Surely there is more to these things than to just live , go through what we do and then die, and then nothing? I personally can not , and will not miss the opportunity to understand the underlying purpose in all that happens under Grandfather's Sun watchful eye, I will not miss the opportunity to be and do more than just live. In all my spiritual wonderings through the jungle that is out there on this subject, I have found that if I would go back to the basics, go back to what is truly TRUE, that I just might get a handle on this thing we call the SPIRITUAL JOURNEY. What I personally have discovered is that there truly is a CREATOR, who is composed of SPIRIT, and is truly here for us. That this CREATOR WHO IS SPIRIT is neither male or female, but some how I know that this Creator is also both! What a paradox! How did I come to this conclusion? The only way that I found out ,was  to go back to the basics and that is NATURE. Nature tells the truth about our Creator, the Great Spirit, and gives us the teachings and the lessons we need to know in order for us to grow into who our CREATOR intends for us. I have tried so called Holy Books, and I do not dismiss them, there is much we can learn in them, but I also know that this world is full of evil and ill intention by those who would seem to want to take the place as our leaders and spokespeople for our Creator. Try as one might there is no end to the foolishness of man's theology, and so called truths. These Truths abound, and even more so on the Internet, my my there are many many suspposed truth Sayer's out there, and how can they all be right?.....so back to NATURE she will never let you down. The Elders in the sky , Grand mother Moon and Grand father Sun were placed in the sky as our teachers and guides to tell us of their Creator, the Great Spirit, they are tireless in their teachings, never missing the deadline of the times of the day and the course of the weeks and months, they never fail in their God given duty to lead us in our journey to our Creator's intentions for us. The SEASONS are but one way our Creator guides us into the lessons we much each learn in our lives. May we be alert to Nature's lessons, and not miss the opportunity to make our lives more than just living, but may we make  our lives full of  purpose and intent, and  by doing so  our lives will become more meaningful. May Grandfather Sun shine in your lives with blessings, and may Grandmother Moon give you the reflection of our Creator , so  that you will always know your are never alone even in the darkest night.

Here is a wonderful article about the seasons and what they can mean to us if we choose to see the underlying current that flows through all that we experience in this gift we call life.

    BLESSED BE

Mystical Autumn Leaves by Rabbi Boruch Leff As the trees shed their leaves, I search for a kabbalistic understanding: Why did God create a world where I need to do all this raking?

With Labor Day announcing the unofficial end to summer, I noticed something on my neighbor's lawn that filled me with dread: fallen leaves! (Thank God it was not my lawn. Yet.)

Autumn always makes me think about the laborious task of raking leaves off my lawn -- day after day, week after week. What kind of meaning and growth can I derive from raking thousands of leaves off my lawn? Why did God create a world where I need to do all this raking?

In Kabbalistic thought, the seasonal calendar is a reflection of the spiritual calendar. The environmental conditions of the world are landmarks for the spiritual growth we should be experiencing during that season. Specific times of the year are predisposed to hardship, and other times are predisposed to renewal and joy. We might call this "spiritual weather."
